Campari is an iconic global brand known for inspiring passion and creativity and championing the arts. Africa is one of the biggest markets in the world for Campari, and while the brand has built a large, loyal following in Nigeria, it needed to connect with a new, young audience of fans to remain relevant and continue to grow across both west and east Africa.
Africa is a cultural force driving world trends, especially through the global prominence of afrobeats. We tapped into the burgeoning creative culture of the continent in partnership with its biggest cultural channel, MTVBase, for the launch of Campari Passion Project - a platform putting a spotlight on the rising stars of music, film and fashion through the medium of Music Video, a critical tool for new artists to get noticed and a format that is the driving force behind new ideas and trends in film and fashion too.
Then, we gave fans the chance to be stars themselves, by showing their own passion and skills for the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with their icons, as featured extras on set.

Campari Passion Project launched with 3 next-generation musicians on the cusp of greatness – Oxlade, T-Classic and GoodgirlLA - who were mentored and brought immediate street cred by working alongside the godfather of Afrobeats himself, 2Baba.
A national promotional campaign invited the audience to share their passions, talents and skills with Campari and the artists by submitting their entry on social, to stand a chance to be immortalised alongside them in their next video.
Campari collaborated with each artist to produce a music video for their next single, working with an up coming film maker and stylist of their choosing who'd also be profiled in the campaign, and a cameo feature from 2Baba.
The talent also sat down with 2Baba for an interview series that uncovered what makes these artists tick - broadcast on MTV Base, and amplified through Campari’s owned channels, each influencers channels and top cultural publications in Naija.
Year one of the program culminated with Passion Project LIVE - some of Lagos' hottest events of the year, bringing our rising stars together on the big stage with top Afrobeats icons, Dj's and hypemen.
